Some plugins have a clipping point of which some will show you with a built in meter or clip light.

But I think it would be handy to create a protocol standard where this clip indicator is forwarded to Cubase to then set off a clip light on a per insert basis, and the 'Inserts' tab itself in the inspector or mixwindow to also display that an insert has clipped, then the user opens the inserts tab to see which specific plugin has clipped.

This would require some protocol between VST and Host.

Some plugins have level meters, and some plugins behave differently depending on the input level, but plugins do not clip.
